Dioon califanoi is a species of cycad that is native to Oaxaca and Puebla states, Mexico.[2] It is found near Teotitlán del Camino and Huautla de Jiménez.
A rare, most beautiful and extremely hardy cycad from the Mexican State of Oaxaca, where it grows at high altitudes, between 1800 and 2400 m (6000 and 8000 ft.). It sports a stocky trunk and stiff leaflets that are bluish-gray and tomentose initally and turn green with age. They are densely arranged in a V-shape along the slender midrib of the leaf. It is very easy to grow, particularly suited for temperate and subtropical climates, and will resist moderate to severe freezes. (RPS.com)
