Product Description
A larger Licuala native to Bougainville Island off the coast of Papua New Guinea at the northwestern end of the Solomon Islands, where it grows in coastal rainforest and close to mangroves. It develops a narrow trunk that can reach between 5 and 10 m (16 and 33 ft.) tall and holds a crown of large, circular leaves that consist of around 10 wedge-shaped segments with the largest one in the center reaching to 22 cm (9 in.) wide. Licuala naumannii grows astonishingly fast. It likes wet ground and can take full sun in the tropics. In warm subtropical regions it is best planted in partial shade. (RPS.com)
